NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading higher in Wednesday's session.

Shares of Godrej Consumer Products (up 5.29 per cent), P & G Hygiene (up 4.17 per cent), United Spirits (up 3.49 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (up 2.89 per cent), Dabur India (up 2.67 per cent), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 2.6 per cent), Emami (up 1.83 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 1.44 per cent), VBL (up 1.43 per cent) and Marico (up 1.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.51 per cent up at 28891.3 around 02:33 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 61.95 points at 8730.25 , while the BSE Sensex was down 246.28 points at 29820.93.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank, JSPL, Axis Bank, SAIL, IndusInd Bank and Vedanta were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
