What we know so far
- A man and a woman in their 70s are the fifth and sixth people to die from COVID-19 in Western Australia. There are 470 confirmed cases in WA. In Australia, the death toll stands at 48 and there are 5919 confirmed cases
- The global death toll from coronavirus has passed 80,000. There are more than 1.4 million known cases of infection but around 298,000 people have recovered, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally
- The emergency Parliament will meet today to pass the government's $130 billion JobKeeper wage subsidy
- Premier Mark McGowan said national modelling suggested 30,000 people could have died in WA if no measures were taken to slow the spread of coronavirus
