1. Coronavirus: Jos Buttler auctions off his World Cup final shirt, raises £65,000
Extending a helping hand amid the crises, England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler had auctioned the shirt he wore during the 2019 World Cup finals against New Zealand. He raised more than 65,000 pounds (USD 80,000) for two London-based hospitals to combat COVID-19.
By the time the auction closed on Tuesday, the shirt had attracted 82 bids with the winner paying 65,100 pounds.
After being called back to Indian team Sanju Samson was not used to his potential. Samson was included in India’s T20I series against Bangladesh in 2019 after a spectacular show in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. But he did not get a single game in the three-match series.
Talking about spending time on the bench, the Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper said he learned a lot being with the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Samson was also not included in India’s T20I squad against West Indies but was later picked up after Shikhar Dhawan got injured.
