TIRUPATI: Two newborns in Vemula in Kadapa district were named after the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.
A rural medical practitioner, Dr SE Basha, who manages the Dr SE Basha Clinic, said two babies born at his clinic amid lockdown were named Corona Kumar and Corona Kumari.
Speaking to TOI, the doctor said two pregnant women were brought to his nursing home for delivery. The deliveries of both the babies were successful and when the parents asked us to suggest memorable names, we suggested they name them after the novel coronavirus, as they were born during the lockdown. Both couples readily agreed," said Dr Basha.
While a couple from Tallapalle named their daughter Corona Kumari, a couple from Alireddipalli named their newborn son Corona Kumar.
