Free ration for poor twice this month

GURUGRAM: The state government on Tuesday announced that all the beneficiaries of the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, along with those who have Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Other Priority Household (OPH) cards, will be provided free ration twice this month.
According to an official release issued by the district administration, the beneficiaries of Antodaya scheme will be eligible to receive 35kg of atta, 2kg sugar, cooking oil and 1kg pulses for the first time. Those in the the BPL category will receive 5kg atta, 2kg sugar, cooking oil and 1kg pulses in the first turn.
The scheme will be executed by the food and supply controller. “In the second turn, Antodaya beneficiaries and BPL cardholders will receive 5kg atta. This is being done with the objective of supporting those in need,” deputy commissioner Amit Khatri said. Depot owners have been directed to provide ration free of cost.
