NOIDA:
Schools in the city have started organising creative activities for children who are attending
online classes.
Most of the institutions have introduced ideas like
virtual tours of the world, dance programmes and drawing contests to keep the children interested.
“Children are finding it (online classes) boring. So, many schools have introduced
virtual reality videos to help them remain engaged,” said a parent whose child is in Apeejay School.
Yatendra Kasana, from the All Noida School Parents Association (
ANSPA), said: “What we are seeing here is that the involvement of parents in the curriculum has increased.”
K Arunachalam, a member of ANSPA, said: “We hope that these online classes are more streamlined and assignments are given from books, so that students can send them back to teachers. In this manner, students can actually get some detailed understanding of chapters.”
Asked about the introduction of new activities, Soumen Bhattacharya, the principal of Cambridge School, Noida, said: “Our students are enjoying the online classes. Moreover, we are trying to keep them interested with a diverse curriculum with various activities. We don’t have much option at the moment but we need to support them in multiple ways.”
