PITTSBURGH, April 8, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — While researchers continue to find better ways to treat cancer patients, the recovery period following a mastectomy can still be quite challenging. Fortunately, an inventor from New Orleans, La., has found a way to make things easier for these patients.
She developed a prototype for the patent pending BERTHA’S POUCH to provide a comfortable and discreet way to keep drainage accessories in place by providing a safe resting place for the drainage accessories. Following a mastectomy, BERTHA’S POUCH eliminates the need to pin drainage tubes to clothing and prevents drainage cups from dangling, which facilitates mobility during treatment. Not only does it keep the hands free, it supports the back as well. Thus, this practical, convenient, effective and affordably priced invention has the potential to contributing to a faster recovery.
The inventor’s personal concerns inspired the idea. “Being a breast cancer patient, I was looking for a more comfortable way to manage the tubes and drainage tubes and cups that are required following a mastectomy,” she said.
