Mamata: 108 foreigners from Nizamuddin markaz in Bengal quarantine camp

KOLKATA: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that 108 foreigners and 69 Indians who had visited Nizamuddin markaz in Delhi had been placed in quarantine in Kolkata. She questioned the role of the Centre for allowing so many foreigners in Nizamuddin. "Why they were allowed to go to Nizamuddin?", she asked.
She said that so far 71 people were tracked to be positive in the state. The CM said that in Beliaghata ID Hospital 16 people were undergoing treatment. The CM said that there were enough hydroxychloroquine tablets in the state."
"We are having sufficient stock", she said and urged all to use masks. She even asked people to use scarfs as masks. She informed that 61 affected patients belong Ito 11 families.
The CM said that many universities are now producing hand sanitizer.
She said that football clubs like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal have donated in the disaster relief fund.
The West Bengal CM said that the nationwide lockdown might get extended as TMC MP Sudip Banerjee had informed her after video conference with PM Narendra Modi, but added that it will be finalized after the meeting between CMs and PM on Saturday. "Until official decision is taken I cannot comment," she said.
Mamata said that the state government wants that people should follow lockdown.
