hotspots in 15
Uttar Pradesh districts will be sealed with immediately effect to prevent the spread of the disease. In an order issued by chief secretary RK Tiwari on Wednesday, it was decided to barricade these 104 hotspots and completely prohibit movement within these areas.
“In 15 districts which have six corona positive cases or more, we have started the identification of hotspots. Only these will be completely sealed. The areas will be sanitised and only door step delivery of essential goods, foods and medicines will be allowed,” said DGP HC Awasthy.
Among the hotspots identified, Agra has the highest at 22,
Ghaziabad with 13, Lucknow, Kanpur and Noida with 12 each, Meerut with 7,
Maharajganj, Varanasi and
Saharanpur with four each, Basti, Bareilly,
Bulandshaher and Shamli with three, and Sitapur and Bareily with one each.
The ACS said that in these areas, no movement of people would be permitted and passed which have been issued till now will be revoked. “Banks and shops will remain shut and the police may use drones to keep a watch on thing if necessary,” he said.
