NOIDA: A Delhi resident who had been interning with Fortis Hospital in Noida Sector 62 tested positive on Tuesday. The 20-year-old woman worked with a lab technician, who had tested positive for Covid-19 in Delhi two days ago.
Officials said though the woman is a Delhi resident, she had been staying at a paying guest facility in Sector 62 as she could not travel from Delhi every day in the wake of the lockdown. She is being treated at the child PGI hospital in Sector 30. The premises of the rented accommodation where she stayed in Sector 62 and the area around it have been sealed and sanitised.
Meanwhile, no Noida resident tested positive for the third consecutive day, which officials attributed to early containment of all primary and secondary contacts of positive cases. Two persons who had tested positive earlier were also discharged by GIMS in Greater Noida, taking the total count of recovered patients to 10 in the district.
Those discharged on Tuesday included a Cease Fire company from Sector 137, who was the first from the company to have recovered. The Cease Fire chain includes 39 of Noida’s 58 positive cases and several others are in quarantine. The second patient to be discharged was a resident of Zeta 1 in Greater Noida, who had travelled to South Africa recently.
“Both patients tested negative in two consecutive tests and are doing well. They have not shown any further symptoms, but they have to remain in home quarantine for another 14 days,” said Brigadier Rakesh Gupta (retired), director of GIMS.
So far, 58 positive cases have been reported in Gautam Budh Nagar, of which, 48 are active while 10 have been discharged. More than 1,048 samples have been collected so far and 1,180 people are under surveillance.
