GURUGRAM: MCG on Tuesday launched eight new
vehicles to collect dry and wet waste in different compartments for Sector 10. “Hygiene and sanitation is most important during the lockdown period. We have introduced new vehicles in which segregated waste will be collected. We thought that this is the best time to encourage people to develop a habit of segregating waste,” said Ambika Prasad Sharma, sanitary officer-cum-senior sanitary inspector, Gurugram.
The sanitary officer on Monday held a meeting that was attended by councillor Ashwin Sharma , Sector 10 RWA president
Captain Udayvir, secretary
Sudesh Sharma , Ecogreen representative
Rajesh Kurup and Suvendu to discuss introduction of door-to-door collection of segregated waste.
Sharma said that a JCB and one additional trolley have also been stationed at Sector 10A, to help sanitation workers to lift garbage from the vacant plots. Officials said that there have been several
complaints from the residents that garbage is often being dumped in the vacant plots.
Meanwhile, MCG has also formed mobile teams so that sanitation related complaints are resolved in a time-bound manner during the lockdown. The teams have been formed in all zones to cater to the complaints of residents about sanitation.
