Coronavirus Pune: Four areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad sealed

Pune: After Pune, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced that four areas in its jurisdiction will be sealed from Wednesday midnight.

These areas include Chikhali, Thergaon, Kharalwadi and Dighi. Shravan Hardikar, the PCMC Commissioner, said that considering the number of patients affected by COVID-19 in Pimpri-Chinchwad limits, the fact that there is a chance of a surge in the number of infected patients is undeniable. 

Keeping the health emergency in mind, the commissioner has decided that the mentioned four areas in PCMC jurisdiction would remain sealed and no public movement will be allowed at all. Entry and exit in these areas for the public are restricted.

Residents of these areas must use face masks or clean handkerchiefs to cover their mouth. Essential service providers are exempted from this restriction, stated Hardikar.

Areas sealed
Gharkul Residency, Chikhali: Building A-1 to 20 (Pawar Industrial premises, Nevale Vasti).

Jama Masjid, Kharalwadi, Pimpri: Girme Hospital – Agrasen Library – Krishna Traders – Chaitali Park Society – Kharal Aai Garden – Om Hospital – Oriental Bank – City Pride Hotel – Crystal Court Hotel.

Kamalraj Balaji Residency near Rode Hospital, Dighi- Bhosari (MVS Computer – Swara Gift Shopee – Sai Temple road– Anushka Optical – Rode Hospital.)

Shivtirth Nagar, Padwalnagar, Thergaon: Shirole Clinic – Ganesh Temple – Nidaan Clinic – Kirti Medical – Rahmania Mosque – Orchid Hospital – Ashoka Society. 

Earlier, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) sealed a 34 square km area of the city including 27-sq km of Maharishi Nagar to Naidu hospital (RTO office) areas and seven sq km of Kondhwa area.
