VARANASI: By holding a grand show of food grain distribution at his RTO Mohalla residence in Azamgarh district, the turncoat muscleman politician Ramakant Yadav landed in troubled waters on Tuesday.
Taking serious note of the viral video, which contained visuals of mocking of social distancing norms prescribed during lockdown by chaotic mob struggling for gabbing food grain bags, the district magistrate Azamgarh NP Singh issued a legal noticed to Yadav. SP Azamgarh Triveni Singh said that an FIR under appropriate sections of epidemic diseases act has also been lodged against Yadav in this connection.
One FIR had already been lodged against Yadav by Azamgarh police in a case for fanning confusion among people against coronavirus through his video message on March 21.
In a district, where four Covid-19 positive cases have already been detected, Yadav, former MP and now Samajwadi Party leader, started distributing food grain distribution on the campus of his RTO Mohalla residence. Hundreds gathered in and around his house created chaotic scenes in their struggle to grab the food grain.
On being contacted by reporters Yadav alleged that as district administration did not allow him to distribute relief articles among needy people he decided to distribute it from home. He claimed that before the beginning of distribution people sat patiently by maintaining social distancing but they created chaos with the beginning of distribution. He denied commenting on the actions being initiated by the district administration and police after his show.
