The AltBalaji web series is an adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel Little Women. It stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Surveen Chawla in the lead roles. It is a story of four sisters (Meher, Jannat, Amal and Bano) that focuses on the issues of society and how women are always judged and put to test. It also highlights the independent and strong mentality of today’s women.
American actor-filmmaker John Krasinski has come up with his new show, in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is winning the hearts of audiences around the world. The show called Some Good News is hosted by Krasinski on his YouTube channel. With just two episodes, the channel already has over a million subscribers. Read more

Panchayat is an eight part-series set in the village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh. Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) who is fresh out of college has somehow landed himself a government job, as Panchayat sachiv, which pays him Rs 20,000 a month. He goes straight from hanging out with his friends at the mall, talking about CTCs and instagramming to the dusty village of Phulera with daily power cuts and where he has to bathe in the open at the hand pump outside the panchayat office.

Samantar stars Swwapnil Joshi and is just what we need when we are locked down during the coronavirus outbreak. The web-series was originally made in Marathi and later dubbed in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Directed by Satish Rajwade, Samantar is a thriller based on the book by the same name by Suhas Shirwalkar. It also stars Nitish Bhardwaj and Tejaswini Pandit. Read more
The Kid Who Would Be King is about a school kid who has nothing special about him. His fortunes change, however, when he pulls King Arthur’s famous sword Excalibur from the stone it is buried in. According to the Arthur stories, only the true king can draw the sword and wield it. The film is an enjoyable adventure for kids and adults alike. Read more
MX Player's Mannphodganj Ki Binny is an adaptation of the book ‘Band Baaja Boys’ by Rachna Singh. It is a story of a small-town girl Binny Bajpai who is attractive, happy go lucky and has an attitude of being in it to win it. The slice of life comedy web series chronicles her big dreams and escapades to leave her small town.
Starring Sanjay Mishra and Deepak Dobriyal in pivotal roles, Kaamyaab is the story of a character actor who has appeared in 499 films and is looking for his 500th project. It is a poignant tale that focuses on the lost dreams of Bollywood. Indian Express critic Shubhra Gupta rated the film 3.5 stars out of 5. In her review, she wrote, “Kaamyaab is a moving, consistently engaging portrait of an artiste as a weathering, weathered man. And Sanjay Mishra is faultless as the lead character - always the bridesmaid, never the bride; an insider but always on the outside.” Read more
This Krishna Marimuthu-directorial traces the story of an eligible bachelor Prabhu Govind (Harish Kalyan), who hates kids but ends up being the biological dad of 49 healthy children. The film is a Tamil rendition of Shoojit Sircar’s 2012 Hindi blockbuster Vicky Donor, and stars Harish Kalyan, Vivek and Tanya Hope in the lead. Read more

It features a slew of powerhouse performers like Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Samantha, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin, Gayathrie, Ashwanth Ashokkumar, and Bagavathi Perumal. The genre-bending movie takes us through the hyper-woven tale of 4 separate subplots, which merge towards the end. Inspired by true events, The Banker centres around revolutionary businessmen Bernard Garrett (Anthony Mackie) and Joe Morris (Samuel L. Jackson), who devise an audacious and risky plan to take on the racist establishment of the 1960s by helping other African Americans pursue the American dream. Along with Garrett’s wife Eunice (Nia Long), they train a working-class white man, Matt Steiner (Nicholas Hoult), to pose as the rich and privileged face of their burgeoning real estate and banking empire – while Garrett and Morris pose as a janitor and a chauffeur. Their success ultimately draws the attention of the federal government, which threatens everything the four have built.
The nine episodes series, Made In Heaven, deals with modern aspirations and the ever-changing value systems of modern Indians. At the centre of it are two wedding planners, Tara (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan (Arjun Mathur). Their job includes planning fancy wedding parties for rich people so they can keep up the perception that their lives are perfect. The same holds true for Tara and Karan’s life as well. They are stuck in their own hell and are trying to show it off as the perfect paradise. Read more
HBO miniseries Chernobyl streaming on Hotstar is a harrowing and meticulous dramatisation of the events leading up to and the immediate aftermath of the biggest nuclear disaster in history. Most of the plot across five taut episodes is about the superhuman efforts at containment by brave people without which millions would have perished. Read more
The horror-fantasy, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, released in 2018 to glowing reviews. The mythological horror film starred Sohum Shah, Mohammad Samad, Anita Date, Deepak Damle and Jyoti Malshe. "Tumbbad is a gorgeous looking, intriguing morality tale which both entrances and repulses: it’s not something I will forget," The Indian Express' Shubhra Gupta wrote in her review of the film.
