NOIDA: Members of several
religious communities have suggested that restrictions under
Section 144 CrPC be extended even if the
lockdown is called off. The suggestions came a day after the chief minister held a meeting with religious leaders via video conferencing.
At the meeting on Sunday, the CM had sought support of various religious organisations to ensure there is no gathering at any place after the lockdown is withdrawn. At least five senior members of religious organisations attended the meet.
“The CM had suggested that every person must be so alert that he maintains social distancing even after the lockdown has ended. For this, people should not throng the markets after the curbs are lifted. At the meeting, there was also a discussion on the possibility that Section 144 may be extended even after April 15,” said Imam Mufti Mohammad Rashid of
Jama Masjid.
