MUMBAI: The Maharahstra cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to expand the Shiv Thali scheme to the Taluka level and continue giving food to people at the reduced price of Rs 5 for the next three months. Currently nearly 1 lakh Thalis are being served under the scheme.
The Shiv Thali scheme which was announced by the Mahavikas Aaghadi government was being served in a select few centres for Rs 10.
Now, with the outbreak of coronavirus, the scheme has been expanded and the rate of per plate has been reduced to Rs 5.
