GURUGRAM: A day after a
Covid-19 patient was booked for concealing details about his participation in the
Tablighi Jamaat, another man, a resident of Pataudi, faced similar action on Monday.
Police said the 27-year-old man had attended the religious meeting on March 18 and tested positive for the novel
coronavirus on Saturday. He has been booked under IPC sections 188, 269 and 270 (unlawful or negligent act likely to spread infection of any disease dangerous to life) at the Pataudi police station. The punishment may be up to six months or a fine, or both. The FIR states that the man knew that members from the Tablighi Jamaat had contracted the disease but did not inform the authorities.
“So far we have registered two FIRs against people linked to Tablighi Jamaat. Police are trying to track and identify more people,” said commissioner of police
Mohammad Akil.
