PUNE: The Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) on Monday enforced a total shutdown in Khadki Bazaar till Wednesday after an autorickshaw driver from the area tested positive for Covid-19 three days ago. Only milk and medical shops will remain open.
As a precautionary step, the board has restricted access to areas within the 3km radius of the patient’s house. The board has started spraying disinfectant in the area and conducting house-to-house surveys to find people who might be showing symptoms of infection, chief executive officer of KCB Pramod Kumar Singh said. A total of 14 people, including four members from the patient’s family, tested negative for the contagion. They will be in home quarantine for two weeks, he added.
