Kanika Kapoor, who tested Covid-19 positive in Lucknow on March 20, was declared free from infection on Monday.
However, she will have to stay under home-quarantine for two more weeks. An official statement from
Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) said: “The sixth report of Kanika Kapoor came negative and she has been discharged”. According to the health ministry protocol, the viral load in a
coronavirus positive patient is assessed regularly till it tests negative twice consecutively.
Kanika was tested six times since her admission to SGPGI. Of these, the first two reports tested positive while the third was inconclusive. The fourth report was positive, but the fifth report, dated April 4, turned negative.
