Noida: Two arrested for sharing ‘morphed’ pictures of Narendra Modi

NOIDA: A father-son duo has been arrested for allegedly sharing objectionable pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP flag on various WhatsApp groups on Sunday.
Police said Abdul Salaam and his son Rehmat, residents of Shramik Kunj in Sector 93, were arrested after a taxi driver Manoj, also a resident of the same society, informed the Phase II police station about the pictures. “The accused had posted photoshopped pictures of the PM and the BJP flag on different WhatsApp groups. When a taxi driver saw it and objected, they allegedly threatened to kill him. The taxi driver informed police after which they were arrested,” Phase II SHO Farmood Ali Pundhir told TOI.
An FIR has been lodged under IPC sections 153 (1) (b) (act prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony), 505 (b) (with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
