Terminal of Indian Oil providing uninterrupted fuel

Terminal of Indian Oil is providing uninterrupted fuel and are maintaining the energy lifeline in Goa during Covid-19 lockdown.

In press statement, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) has said, “Even during the current period of lockdown due to Covid- 19, the employees and officers of the Vasco Terminal of IOCL are working with highest morale and motivation for ensuring that there is no shortage of fuel in Goa. The Vasco Terminal is supplying fuel oil to all major industries in Goa which is essential for keeping the various plants producing essential commodities up and running. Moreover the Terminal is also making sure that there is no disruption of supplies to the fuel availability to the defense forces in Goa i.e. the Indian Navy and Indian Coast guards.”

In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country, the demand for petroleum products like petrol, diesel, fuel oil, aviation fuels , HF HSD (Bunker Fuels required by the various ships) etc., have reduced substantially and In these trying times, Indian Oil Vasco Terminal is committed to ensuring fuel supply to industries, AFS, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and ROs ( Petrol Pump), said the press note.

It was disclosed, “Being a sole supplier of bunker fuel to defense vessel, the Vasco terminal of Indian Oil is making all necessary arrangement for fuelling of vessels in Goa so that eyes of sea never go down. In the time of lockdown, Indian Oil Vasco is the only oil company in Goa, which is continuing providing Fuel Oil (FO) to Goa’s Industries like pharmaceutical, fertilizers and, FMCG companies. Indian Oil Vasco also provides ATF (aviation fuel) to Indian Navy and Dabolim airport through its Aviation Fuel Station.”

IOCL’s Vasco terminal is also conducting awareness programs on precautions to be taken during Covid- 19 for contractors, workers, security guards and TT crews on regular basis. In these programs, IOCL officers and empanelled doctor is providing general Information about Covid -19 and its symptoms and preventions. The people are also being made aware of the proper methods of personal hygiene, hand washing, use of sanitisers and social distancing.

The terminal has also distributed face masks and rubber gloves to their contractors, contract workers and TT crews free of cost,, said the press release and have further added that IOCL Vasco also have installed wash basin at many places inside its premises so that employee, worker, TT crews and any other personal can wash their hand and face at regular intervals and can remain protected against the threats of Covid- 19 while ensuring that there is no shortage of fuels in Goa.
“IOCL Vasco is making sure that all their unsung soldiers working towards ensuring uninterrupted supplies of fuel in Goa are having proper meals by providing free food to their drivers, cleaner, security guards, contractor worker, employees and visitors at Terminal”, disclosed the press note and have opined that despite the restriction and constraint due to lockdown, Indian Oil Team in Goa has successfully made available BS VI petrol and diesel to all the petrol pumps of Indian Oil in Goa.
