60-year-old Vasai man dies, third Covid-19 death in Palghar district

MUMBAI: A 60-year-old Vasai man died of suspected Covid-19 at a private hospital in Nalasopara on Sunday night.
The patient who was on dialysis for kidney failure was admitted to a private hospital after he developed symptoms of coronavirus.
His report by a private laboratory came positive. He was declared dead at around 10.30pm on Sunday.
Vasai-Virar municipal corporation (VVMC) officials said that the victim’s swab has been sent for testing to Kasturba.
The victim, who earlier worked in a five star hotel, was undergoing dialysis for kidney failure at a Mumbai hospital since a few years.
This is the third Covid-19 death in the Palghar district and second in the Vasai- Virar region.
The first death of a 50-year-old Saphale man was reported on March 31. The second death of a 68-year-old man was reported on April 2.
The number of positive cases in the Palghar district is 15 (excluding deaths).
Till Sunday evening 127 swab tests were awaited.
