As many as 109 people have died of the coronavirus disease till now in India
Coronavirus India update: India has found 693 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, taking the total count to 4,067 and prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to say that the country had a long battle ahead against the disease.
As many as 109 people have died of the disease till now, said government officials in Delhi. Out of the 4,067 coronavirus cases, at least 1,445 related to Islamist group Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi in mid-March.
"It is going to be a long haul, we do not have to tire, our resolve and mission are to emerge victorious in fight against this pandemic," Modi told BJP workers on the party's 40th foundation day.
Globally, the death toll surpassed 70,446 and the number of infections rose to 1,286,717.
