The renowned Gilmore Car Museum in western Michigan is holding its first-ever virtual car show.
Jay Follis, the museum's director of marketing, said in an interview that he got the idea after seeing people in isolation at home sharing pictures of their cars in Facebook groups.
"Rather than getting out and walking around," Follis told Autoweek, "you can stay at home and social-distance but still say, 'Wow, I've never seen that car' or 'Wow, that's my favorite.' "
The show is Saturday, April 11, and winners in a number of different classes will get prizes. There even will be an award for the car that (digitally) traveled the farthest.
