Telangana Govt Develops Real Time Health Monitoring System

The objective of the app is to undertake real-time surveillance to track patients by identifying, monitoring and providing factual analytics to the health department and the chief Minister.

The Public Health and Family Welfare Department of the government of Telangana in association with Vera Smart Healthcare, developed  India's  first automated "COVID-19 Monitoring System App".

The objective of the app is to undertake real-time surveillance to track patients by identifying, monitoring and providing factual analytics to the health department and the chief Minister.
The facts and figures mulled out through the analytics would also facilitate all the stake holders by providing the facts and figures at their finger tips.

The platform enables every healthcare worker to handle over one thousand five hundred tele calls along with a facility to communicate with patients through its chat box to ensure proper quarantine and treatment ofr the confirmed patients. This would exponentially expand the outreach of COVID 19 patients. The patients may also be reminded time and again by the tele callers to ensure the prescribed treatment along with maintaining the basic guidelines of social distancing even while staying home and staying safe.

Almost two thousand Asha workers along with their ANM counterparts would be using the App, who would further send the acquired information to approx four thousand eight hundred PHC sub centers and the data collected would be send ahead to 88 PHCs( Public Health care centers). Finally this data would be received b the district health office.

The said user friendly application has been developed in a record time of three days by Vera Smart Healthcare, which is a newly founded startup based at Hyderabad and the United States. Praising the companies deftness in understanding the protocol and complexities of handling COVID 19 survillence, Dr G Srinivas Rao, Director of Public Health said, "The system has helped us track and monitor the foreign returnees; community spread and already hospitalised for severe acute respiratory infection (SARS) very early to control the spread of COVID pandemic in the state." He further added, "Vera Centralised Covid-19 Monitoring System is a timely technology innovation that eases the pain of health workers by effective surveillance, and deploys a meticulous tech-enabled method to collate vital data at the click of a button, thereby empowering active associates across the state, from the hierarchical polity to bureaucracy to the front line ASHA and ANM workers, to make Covid19 history."

"The Monitoring System which is built on a digital platform erases human errors and provides accurate information. The quick turnaround, and the innovative psyche, has initiated improved surveillance, tracking - effective monitoring, and supervision."

Founder and CEO of Vera Healthcare, Explaining its benefits, Dharma Teja Nukarapu explained the platform saying that, "Our technology is based on IoT, smart devices, GPS and Geo-tag via a super light centralized App - Covid-19 Monitoring System - which is installed in the phones of all associates from the ground level till the chief minister's office. The system was built by Vera in record time. Every stakeholder has been given comprehensive training on how to use the App."

He further added that"Among the vital features of the app are Geo-tagging and GPS tracking of the home quarantined person, to ensure that he/she is not breaching the law of quarantine. With instant trace and traceability, accurate information is pushed to the authorities even if there is a breach. Every detail reported -reaches the chief minister's office through various stakeholders like the ASHA worker, doctors, policemen, and concerned officials."

He signed off saying that “Vera Healthcare is now preparing to release a batch of "SMART PATCH" which tags the patient geographically, monitors and disseminates his/her real-time health progress."
