Several BJP leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Ramdas Athawale lit up diyas and candles in solidarity with the nation in its fight against coronavirus. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too lit up diyas at his residence at 9pm on Sunday. PM Modi in his address to the nation has appealed to citizens to shutdown lights at their homes and lit up earthen lamps and candles to show solidarity in India’s fight against coronavirus. Home minister Amit Shah tweeted, “A ray of hope and belief can brighten the darkest times. On PM Narendra Modiji’s call, I switched off the lights at my home and lit diyas. India stands firmly with PM Narendra Modi in this fight against COVID-19. #9pm9minute.”
