H Lalengmawia issued a notification on Sunday instructing all the
doctors working under the state government to remain accessible to patients.
Lalengmawia said that all the doctors should be available to be consulted through their office or private telephone numbers at all time. "Unless they have health problems or unforeseen problems, all the doctors should remain in their respective places of posting until and unless the Covid-19 pandemic situation is over and should be easily accessible for the people who want to consult them," the notification said.
The doctors were also instructed to assist any patients with care and good beahviour.
The health secretary also instructed all the government and private hospitals in the state to give utmost care to patients having respiratory problems. He added that complaints have been received by the government that some people having respiratory illnesses were facing problems while approaching government and private hospitals for admission. Hospitals should not turn down any patient suffering from respiratory illness, he added.
