In good news coming from Rajkot, three out of 10 patients found positive for Covid-19 so far, have been cured and sent back home. On Sunday, a 75-year-old patient who was suffering from diabetes, hypertension and blood pressure was cured of the disease. Vimlaben Kanabar, 75, who lived in Rajkot's Yagnik Road area tested positive though she had no travel history. Her son, 42, who runs a saree shop in town, too had tested positive. Both mother and son were admitted to the isolation ward of Rajkot Civil Hospital while Vimlaben's husband and Kaushal's wife were quarantined at Trimandir.

As they left the hospital on Sunday after 13 days, the team of nine doctors who were in charge of their treatment, lined up in the lobby clapping for them. She said she least expected a government hospital to have such world-class facilities and congratulated the entire staff for commendable work and dedication.

Dr Jaydeep Joshi, in charge epidemic medical officer at Rajkot Civil Hospital, said the hospital had three positive patients who have been cured and discharged.

Their approach in providing treatment to COVID-19 patients includes treatment for respiratory tract infection and appropriate treatment for the symptoms he/she has. "We are relieved that a 75-year-old patient suffering from hypertension, blood pressure and diabetes was cured completely." The mother-son duo have been provided a room in Trimandir on Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway where the other family members are quarantined. The family reunion after 13 days of nailbiting uncertainty was quite emotional.
