A disinfection tunnel was installed at entrance of Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) market in Karnataka’s Hubli on April 05 amid coronavirus pandemic. The tunnel was installed with the help of ‘Young Indians’ organisation. Disinfection tunnel sprays people with a small percentage of Sodium hypochlorite solution through nozzles before they enter the market. While speaking to ANI one of the members of ‘Young Indians’ organisation, Srinivas Joshi said, ‘We have added 1.8% of Sodium hypochlorite solution in 1000 litres of water. It's pumped through high-pressure pumps and sprayed like a mist via nozzles for 3-5 seconds.’ ‘People allergic to chemicals should avoid going through. We are putting signboard very soon,’ he added. There is a total of 163 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Karnataka including four deaths and 12 cured. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3219 in India and 83 deaths.
