Pregnant Vasai woman dies of Covid-19, third case in region

MUMBAI: A 38-year-old pregnant woman from Vasai who died in the Nair hospital on Saturday tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. The toll in the Vasai-Virar region has touched three.
A 60-year-old Vasai man died in a private hospital in Nalasopara on Sunday. He was undergoing dialysis for kidney failure.
The pregnant woman was admitted to the hospital after she complained of breathlessness. She passed away on Saturday. Her swab report that arrived on Monday confirmed she had coronavirus. Her husband and child have been moved to isolation cell. The village where the woman lived has been contained.
There are 13 positive cases in the Vasai-Virar region. This is in addition to the three deaths, including that of a 68-year-old man in a private hospital at Nalasopara on April 2.
