Vashi police register FIR against 10 Filipinos for spreading Covid-19

NAVI MUMBAI: Vashi police have registered an FIR against 10 Phillipines nationals who had stayed at the Vashi mosque between March 10 and 16 without informing the Vashi police after returning from Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.
Police officials informed that the Filipinos had visited Vashi node despite knowing that there was Covid-19 outbreak at the religious congregation in Delhi.
Subsequently, one 68-year-old Filipino succumbed during treatment of Covid-19 and several of his contacts at Vashi mosque got infected by Covid-19. The 10 Filipinos have been booked under relevant IPC sections for violation of prohibitory order along with Covid-19 Disease Management Rule 2000 with other sections.
