Several earthen lamps were being sold in the national capital in the view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to light ‘diyas’ and candles amid coronavirus outbreak. People bought ‘diyas’ from market which they will light at 09:00 pm on April 05. The motive of PM Modi behind this initiative is to unite citizens in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. On the other side people in Bihar’s Patna and Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad were also seen buying ‘diyas’ in the market areas as a gesture to win over darkness in this time of despair due to coronavirus pandemic. PM Modi gave video message to the nation on April 03 at 09:00 am, urged people to turn off their lights for nine minutes at 09:00 pm on April 5 and light a candle or a ‘diya’ or even use the flashlight to mark the country’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
