No Low Ballers, I Know What I Have: The Elusive Mercedes-Bends Type-Crack

A cooky – and that’s an understatement, Honda Civic disguised as a Mercedes-Benz has been doing the rounds of social media after recently being listed for sale in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The original listing was posted by Hipnotiks Carclub on Facebook and while it has since been removed, we still have the photos to marvel at.

What you’re looking at is a 1993 Honda Civic that features a custom body with Mercedes-Benz lookalike parts, most notably the headlights and taillights. The oddball car also features a set of intriguing silver wheels sitting over red brake calipers as well as a 2 Fast 2 Furious-style front bumper and side skirts. Spin around to the rear and you will notice a towering wing and a diffuser, because a car like this obviously needs…huge amounts of downforce to stick it to the pavement.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder, photos show that the front doors have been converted to Lamborghini scissor doors that open up vertically. There is something we are rather fond of, however, and that is the invisible door handles, leading us to think the doors may be remote operated.

While it’s unclear if the car has sold in the three weeks that it’s been available, the listing reveals an asking price of $4,500. While we have little doubt that the owner spent quite a lot of time and money customizing the car, particularly the cabin with new red and white materials throughout, anything over $1,000 seems a little excessive to us. But hey, what do we know?
