As Covid-19 positive cases rise to 32 in Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar holds discussion with specialist docs

PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday held discussion with several specialist doctors, through video conferencing, on Covid-19; while total number of confirmed Covid-19 positive cases in the state rose to 32.
"A new positive case has been reported from Naugachhia in Bhagalpur district on Saturday, taking the total number to 32. The person, aged about 65 years and hailing from Naugachhia, had come from UK March 18," health department’s principal secretary Sanjay Kumar said.
Bihar has so far reported only one death due to Covid-19.
During the video-conferencing, the specialist doctors briefed the CM about the prevailing situation of spread of Covid-19 infection in different parts of the state, and lauded the efforts being taken by the state government to check further spread of the epidemic disease.
It was the CM’s second video-conferencing with the specialist doctors after the positive cases of Covid-19 reported in the state. “Whatever valuable suggestions you gave during the first video-conferencing a few days back, the state’s health department is seriously implementing those advises. Your today’s suggestions also are very important and health department will take necessary step to implement them,” CM told the doctors at the end of interaction.
During the discussion, the CM recounted the steps taken by his government to put an effective check on spread of Covid-19 in the state and sought suggestions from the doctors what more can be done.
Nitish also said his government was taking all necessary steps to check the epidemic and people should not be frightened. "I strongly believe that we will come out of this crisis on a day with the help of people," he told doctors.
Prominent among the specials doctors with whom the CM Interacted were Padam Shree Dr SN Arya, Dr A Hai, Dr Bijay Prakash, Dr Satyendra Narayan Singh (PMCH), Dr Hemant Shah (Care), RMRI director Dr Pradip Kumar Das, the IGIMS director Dr N R Biswas and the AIIMS-Patna director Dr P K Singh.
Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, Bihar Vidhan Sabha speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary, health minister Mangal Pandey, water resources minister Sanjay Kumar Jha, chief secretary Deepak Kumar and Health department’s principal secretary Sanjay Kumar also were present on the occasion.
