Pune youth distribute grocery kits among needy during coronavirus lockdown

The team recently distributed such kits to over 250 impoverished families in Wadgaonsheri area
PUNE: Four Pune youth have come together to offer a helping hand to impoverished families in the city and surrounding areas to observe the spirit of humanity in the time of crises. The four persons, Gaurav Somani, Rohit Ratji, Vishal Modi and Vinnet Rathi, under the social initiative called Kartavya, have been providing grocery kits to needy persons during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown.
The team recently distributed such kits to over 250 impoverished families in Wadgaonsheri area in the presence of former MLA Jagdish Mulik. The team is now preparing 500 kits which will be distributed among needy families in Kothrud and Mulshi.
According to the team members, the kit includes rice, cooking oil, red chilli powder, salt, soap and many other essential commodities. They said that these are basic necessities and will provide help to citizens in the city during the lockdown. They added that the cost of each kit is Rs 500.
They have also sought contribution from citizens to aide this initiative in order to help many more families in need. "As the cost of the kit is Rs 500, we urge more and more citizens to get involved and help the needy," they stated.
