Nagpur: A squad of Hedri Armed Out Post and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) thwarted a Maoist attack in Bodmeta forest in south Gadchiroli on Sunday. The reds triggered a blast and followed it by firing on the combined squad before fleeing the place.
The security forces, after surviving the blast, managed to dispose of another Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted at the site where the Maoists were camping. The Maoists had earlier taken the patrolling party by surprise with the blast followed by heavy firing, but had to retreat once the security forces retaliated.
The Maoists fled the place leaving behind their belongings. The security forces seized substantial material from the camping site, including literature.
