The Bharatiya Janata Party has played a new political bet in the Rajya Sabha elections by nominating Omkar Singh Lakhawat as the second nominee.

In Rajasthan, the BJP is considering a seat in the Rajya Sabha. Rajendra Gehlot had already been declared a Rajya Sabha candidate on this seat. It is believed that BJP has filed nomination from Lakhavat only due to the possibility of cross-voting by Congress MLAs. However, due to open voting for the Rajya Sabha elections, the possibility of cross-voting is less.

In order to take advantage of dissatisfaction among Congress MLAs, the BJP has decided to field Lakhavat. In Rajasthan, KC Venugopal and Neeraj Dangi have been nominated as Rajya Sabha candidates by the Congress. KC Venugopal is one of the prominent Congress leaders.
