Goa: Two held with drugs worth Rs 2 lakh at Anjuna

PANAJI: Goa police have arrested two Netherlands nationals for allegedly being in possession of drugs worth Rs 2.1 lakh. Anjuna police said they received information that the two were involved in the drug trade and were supplying narcotics to tourists.
Following a tip-off, police laid a trap at a junction near Tembi ground in Anjuna where one of the two was to strike a deal. The accused was caught with pink tablets, suspected to be ecstasy, weighing 8.2g, worth Rs 2.1 lakh and Rs 2,500 in cash.
During interrogation, he informed the police about the second accused, who supplied him the narcotic substance. Accordingly, the second accused was also arrested.
Anjuna police have registered a case under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
