Collector warns against boycott of virus patients

PUNE: District Collector Naval Kishore Ram has issued an order stating that criminal action will be taken against the people who are boycotting relatives of coronavirus patients or citizens who have returned from coronavirus-infected countries and are isolated at their home.

In the notification, he warned housing society chairman, members and other residents of criminal action if such issues get reported. In Pune, 16 persons have been found positive with coronavirus. 

The order states that some citizens who returned from the affected countries have been kept in isolation in their homes so as not to spread the virus.

“These citizens should not be harassed or expelled by chairman or members of their housing society. In event of such case, action will be taken against the concerned under Disaster Management Act and Indian Penal Code,” he warned.
