Man held for creating fake social media account of woman

Rajkot: A man was arrested from Vadodara on Sunday for allegedly creating fake social media account of a Rajkot-based woman and uploading obscene messages along with her photographs.
Police said the accused, identified as Prakash Shimpi (29), was arrested from his residence in Rajratna Society of Pratapnagar locality in Vadodara.
“Shimpi had allegedly created the fake Facebook account of the victim after taking her photographs. He also accessed list of her friends and relatives and their social media id from her original Facebook account. He had allegedly put obscene messages in the profile of the woman. He also allegedly sent friend requests on her behalf to her friends and relatives,” said B M Kataria, inspector with the cyber cell of Rajkot police.
Shimpi is a BSc and is pursuing MSc in physics.
