NOIDA: Gautam Budh Nagar district administration on Sunday asked all private and government hospitals to set up flu corners to screen people with cough, cold and other symptoms. The units are to be set up immediately, officials said.
All hospitals, medical officers and practitioners have been asked to share with the district surveillance unit (DSU) self-declaration forms from people who are affected and a record of past 14 days (including travel accounts).
The step comes close on the heels of the Uttar Pradesh Epidemic Disease Covid-19 Regulations, 2020, (UPEDR) being issued under section-2 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897.
“People who are symptomatic with a travel history of visiting the affected countries or those who were in touch with people from those countries would be kept in home isolation for 14 days or at a hospital, as per the chief medical officer’s recommendations,” district magistrate BN Singh said.
He added that steps are being taken to avoid spreading of rumour or unauthenticated information on social media. “Any one found to be engaged in such activities would be punished under the state government regulations,” Singh said.
