BENGALURU: The annual three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), the highest decision-making body of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), scheduled to start from Sunday, was cancelled at the last minute in view of the Covid-19 scare.

“In view of the seriousness of the pandemic Covid-19 and in light of the instructions and advisories issued by both the Union and state governments, the ABPS meeting scheduled in Bengaluru has been suspended,” RSS Sarkaryavah Suresh Joshi said in a statement on Saturday.
BJP national president JP Nadda, presidents and office bearers of 35 organisations like VHP, ABVP and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh were in the city to participate in the meet, which RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was expected to address.
Though the state government had banned mass gatherings across Karnataka for a week from Saturday amid Covid-19 fears, RSS on Friday had said the event would be held as scheduled.
