Pune: Special efforts are being taken to maintain cleanliness and carry out disinfection of coaches in coaching depots of Pune railway division.

Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of Central Railway Shivaji Sutar said, “All areas/components in coaches coming into contact with passengers such as door handles, berth grab handles, wash basins, entry door and partition door handles are being wiped/cleaned. Intensive cleaning and disinfection of toilets is also being ensured.”

He said that Onboard Housekeeping Staff (OBHS) has also been instructed to maintain cleanliness of coaches of en-route trains and topping up of liquid handwash soap. Coach attendants have been counselled to ensure availability of fresh linen to passengers. The coaching depot maintenance staff and contract staff have been counselled to be careful towards personal hygiene.
