Coronavirus: Lucknow administration orders closure of multiplexes, cinema halls, coaching institutes

LUCKNOW: Taking proactive step against the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) the district administration of Lucknow has ordered closure of multiplexes, cinema halls, clubs, discos, gyms and swimming pools to be closed till March 31. The order has also been extended to the coaching institutes to remain closed till March 22.
Lucknow, District Magistrate, Abhishek Prakash said that we have also made a control room and if any public place is found not abiding by the order then an action under 188 of the IPC would be taken. “The offence amounts to six months imprisonment and Rs 1000 fine or both,” said Prakash.
He also said that teams under Additional district magistrates have been made to conduct checks while public is free to report about any non-compliance. The police has also taken measures against the spread of Covid-19.
Lucknow police commissioner, Sujeet Pandey said that 14 teams have been exclusively formed to support medical teams in handling patients suffering from symptoms of virus. “Teams will also assist the district administration in carrying out checks on the sale of face masks in the market,” he said.
