The Patriots placed an original round tender on Jermaine Eluemunor on Sunday, according to the NFL Network.

A restricted free agent, Eluemunor was drafted in the fifth round in 2017 so in the event another team signs the offensive lineman, the Patriots would get that team’s fifth-round pick. Last summer, the Patriots sent a fourth-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for Eluemunor and a sixth-round selection.

Eluemunor, a guard, appeared in 10 games with the Patriots last season. The 25-year-old played 29 offensive snaps. In his first two NFL seasons, Eluemunor appeared in 17 games with the Ravens, making two starts.

The Patriots will likely need some interior offensive line depth come next season. When free agency starts on Wednesday, left guard Joe Thuney and center Ted Karras are expected to have solid markets. Backup center James Ferentz is also a free agent. The Patriots will return right guard Shaq Mason, center David Andrews and 2019 rookie guard Hjalte Froholdt.
