While Holi 2020 saw the stars step out in all kinds of traditional outfits, the British royals served some serious evening wear inspiration
This week was off to a festive start with Holi 2020 and the stars gathered to play with friends and family. Few days before the actual day, Isha Ambani hosted a colourful extravaganza at her Worli residence in Mumbai which saw the stars lined-up in cheerful Indian wear. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas arrived hand-in-hand dressed in customised designer outfits by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Chopra wore an off-white tiered kurta detailed with a multi-coloured yolk and borders. Jonas perfectly coordinated with his wife in a white khadi kurta that had the same colourful piping as Chopra’s ensemble—the couple also matched their footwear in bright yellow. Meanwhile, the host Isha Ambani picked a breezy white anarkali set with hand-painted flowers by Picchika. Diana Penty also attended the party in a similar look—a hand printed white sari by Vedika M that came with a cross-body bag. Did you miss the cotton lehenga that Jacqueline Fernandez picked for Holi? Scroll ahead to take a look.
Given the colourful mood that set the tone of the week, Karisma Kapoor added a splash of colour to her wardrobe too. For the premier screening of her film Mentalhood, the actor picked a printed slip dress by Prabal Gurung with a drawstring slit detail and a contrasting lemon yellow bralette neckline. She added even more vibrancy to her look with bright purple eyeshadow. Athiya Shetty took a chance in with a cropped jacket and tailored pants by menswear designer Kunal Rawal for an event.
Overseas, the Duke and Duchess's recent trip to London created a stir worldwide. Apart from the couple’s public appearances as they complete the last leg of their official duties, Meghan Markle took the opportunity to dress in impeccable outfits one after the other. What caught our attention the most was her emerald green Emilia Wickstead dress with a built-in cape and the sculptural Gabriela Hearst mini bag that she wore to the Commonwealth Day Service 2020. Meanwhile in London, the Duchess of Cambridge hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace on March 9. For the evening, Middleton re-wore a cobalt blue Jenny Packham gown that she first donned in 2016 in Mumbai with an added beaded stole. The Duchess, who is a proud believer of repeating her outfits publically, is at the forefront of making re-wearing the new cool.
