11 caught drunk from MLA’s party plot

VADODARA/ ANAND: Sleuths of local crime branch of Anand busted a liquor party at a party plot from where nabbed 11 persons were nabbed in an inebriated state in Petlad town of Anand district on Thursday night.
The party plot is owned by Petlad’s Congress MLA Niranjan Patel. Sources said that two sons of the Congress MLA were also present at the party plot during the time of the raid, but they were not found to be be drunk. “The party plot belongs to the MLA but was hired for a function by the accused, most of whom are locals,” said police inspector H B Chouhan.
Chouhan confirmed that MLA’s sons were present at the party plot.
“Since, they are the owners of the party plot, they might have come for some work,” he said.
Those arrested include residents of Petlad, Karamsad, Kasbara, Mogri, Bakrol, Sojitra and Valasan areas of Anand district apart from one resident of Subhanpura area of Vadodara. The cops have also seized one liquor bottle from the premises.
