UP man held with country-made pistol, cartridges

Vadodara: The special operations group (SOG) has arrested a 23-year-old man for being in possesion of a country-made pistol. The cops had received information that Moin Khan Pathan, a resident of Gorwa, had a pistol following which they kept an eye in his locality.
On Thursday, the cops nabbed Pathan near Pandya bridge when he was on his way to Fatehgunj. The pistol worth Rs 20,000 and five live cartridges were seized from Pathan, who hails from Uttar Pradesh.
Pathan told the cops that he had purchased the pistol from a man named Panda in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh.
“We are now trying to ascertain if Pathan wanted to sell the pistol and cartridges or he wanted to use it for some crime,” the police said. An offence has been registered against Pathan under the Arms Act at Fatehgunj police station.
