Boy thrashed with chappal, father approaches CP

Surat: A city-based businessman has alleged that Umra police station officials did not take action against a person who had allegedly thrashed his 13-year-old son on Tuesday. He submitted a complaint to the city police commissioner on Thursday.
According to the businessman, his son had gone to his friend’s place near Vrijvasi apartment in Parle Point on Tuesday to play Holi.
While playing, the boy threw a water pouch which accidentally fell on a local resident Naresh Agrawal, who started hitting him his chappal (footware).
The businessman added that his son was so scared that he did not tell his family about the incident. It was through his friends that he came to know about the incident and then approached Umra Police to register a complaint against Agarwal.
“However, police did not register FIR against Agrawal of thrashing a minor and let go after preventive actions,” the businessman alleged. So he approached the police commissioner.
He also said that CCTV footage clearly showed Agarwal beating his son. Police had detained Agarwala and later released him on Wednesday.
