JAIPUR/JAISALMER: Amid the political storm in
Madhya Pradesh triggered by
Jyotiraditya Scindia’s move of quitting Congress and joining BJP, two Congress MLAs of Rajasthan lambasted the Ashok Gehlot-led government on Thursday. While Todabhim MLA
Prithviraj Meena expressed his anger by saying Gehlot’s ministers were acting like “kings”, six-time legislator
Hemaram Chaudhary, who now represents Gudhamalani, went on to threaten resignation as he was “losing his patience”.
Meena said no minister in the Gehlot government paid heed to issues and problems raised by him. He alleged that ministers were acting like “kings” and it was high time Gehlot took them to task.
Questioning the functioning of the government, Meena said, “The situation in Rajasthan is not any better compared to Madhya Pradesh as nobody listens to the MLAs. Crops have been badly damaged and the government has not yet announced any package. There are some ministers who consider themselves to be above the chief minister and act like kings.”
This is not the first time Meena has made statements against his own party and government.
